Anyone still waiting for 2.3 upgrade like me? My wife also has the Facinate and was upgraded last week...but I've had my Facinate for about a year longer!

binskiboy, I'd like to provide you with the steps on how to check manually for the update, if you have not already received it. The steps are below.

If you are not able to manually pull the software update, feel free to send me a DM (Direct Message) with your name and mobile number so I can look into this further.

I've been checking for updates through that method and still get "no new software update available". I currently have Firmware version 2.2.2.

I have two Fascinates (both my wife and I). My phone automatically updated back in December to 2.3.5. My wife's on the other hand had never been updated (its still at 2.2.1). When I try to update manually, I get "No New Software Update Available". She's started having many issues, so I did a factory reset. Before I go through all the work to set her phone back up the way she wants it, I'd like to update it to gingerbread. ChristinaB, why won't this just update, do I need to contact verizon support to get them to push the update like you are doing for binskiboy? HELP!

I am having the same problem as rowdyace
i called customer support and they told me to go to a store so that they could flash update my phone
after waiting for an HOUR in line, the store told me that they were unable to do it and that I could get the update on samsung's website. Didn't find it there either.
HOW DO I UPDATE THIS PHONE??!?

There is another thread here that talks about issues with the Fascinate after the Gingerbread update, and there is a very helpful post about how to get your phone to Gingerbread manually.

It takes roughly 10 minutes or so do to according to the post, but the people that responded said it worked fine. This MIGHT be an option for you to try, otherwise take your phone to the Verizon store and insist they do something for you because it clearly is not right.

To be honest I got gingerbread soon as I activated my fascinate I bought from my store manager and it did the updates soon as I did the OTA. My signal doubled in my house and my battery life is better. And I have had it active for less than a month, was about to root it. But I'm happy how it is running....
