Just like the topic. My phone which we use on hotspot regularly to do a few things with our business mostly. Had a huge data spike within a couple of hours. We went from like 3 gigs used for the month to 47 gigs in a few hours. Reached out to support, was told that they don't know what caused it because they have no record or way to check what used that much data except it says hotspot. Also the most we use a month is like 20 or so gigs and that is in 30 days not a couple of hours. I asked them if they could put a block on the account so it doesn't go over and charge us. They said no. So I asked basically if my phone or their system is glitching out, they have no way of knowing and no way of stopping it from happening and that I can still get charged if it does it again and the technician said yes and he was sorry he couldn't do anything else because his hands were tied. Ontop of that the Verizon data widget i use to monitor the data just stopped working at the same time. All it says is tap to activate. Is this normal? Could I really get charged for data used like this even though it could not be my fault and on Verizon end? And the data overage charges arnt cheap they like 15$ a gig. It uses 40 gigs again like this, that will be 600$ and they really have no way of finding out whats causing it or caused it so the only choice is to bill me for it like it really couldn't be something on Verizon's end it has to be on mine. I even asked since I called in and let you know about this issue and you have a report on it will that give me atleast some credit that I brought it to yall attention before it happend to try and stop it and he said no they don't have anything in place for that so I would still get charged. Like seriously?

We know how important it is to be able to manage your data, Kjnkid86. What kind of devices are connected to the Mobile Hotspot? Are they configured to use a metered connection?

Yes, it is a PC. And yes it was set for metered connection. We have been doing this for years with no issue.

Thanks for that information,Kjnkid86. Our goal is to ensure that you are able to confirm data usage and how it was used. Please visit this link (https://www.verizon.com/support/view-usage-on-your-bill/) to check on data usage. -Antonio
