I have a Note 2 and it is getting to be to much to carry in the otterbox everyday at work.. I am looking at getting a Galaxy Nexus as a work phone during the day... Since the Nexus is 4G on the sim only what steps will have to be taken to switch service between these 2 devices? Is it something a simple auto dial number can do or online or do I have to call CS everytime and have them switch it... Thanks!

You just need to move the SIM card from one phone to the other. Unfortunately I was told that there is a maximum number of times you can swap a SIM card between phones in a billing cycle. If there is a limit to the swaps, you will hit it quickly as it was a maximum of four times a cycle.

I thought that only thing on the Nexus that worked off the Sim was data though? I know on the Note 2 and S3 and most others just switching the Sim will transfer everything.....
I will for sure look into the limits to switching and see as this will surely give me 1 more reason to despise VZW.... Seems very odd that I can only switch a limited number of times.... There must be a solution for that...
But Thank You for the response I REALLY appreciate it.

Galaxy Nexus 4G is a Verizon phone it should work with everything. Do you mean the GSM version of the phone? Do you mean the Nexus 5 instead?

No it is the Galaxy Nexus 4g Sch I515... If it works just like the rest with just the SIM I will be one happy camper..... UNLESS I can only switch phones 4 times a month... Then I will be VERY upset LOL
Thanks for the response

That has Verizon branding. It'll work calls/text/web.

There is no limit on how many times you can switch the devices. If you want to swap them out 24 times a day, every day, that's your call.

the 4 swap limit is on device ID changes (changing 4g LTE sim cards or 3g MEIDs).
Moving a SIM from one device to another doesn't affect that limit.

I've never heard of this limit before. I've literally switched esns (between 5 different phones) 6 times in the past week and my bill cycle date is the 12th. And that's going between basic phone, 3G smartphone and 4G smartphones. I've never had an issue with a limit.

They may have changed it, it's been a while since I've dealt with it.

Okay that does make sense. The rep that gave me the information hadn't quantified as swaps between the 3G only devices and 4G LTE smartphones. Although I do think I had asked specifically about switching between two 4G LTE smartphones. I will file this away as new and improved information.

Miller6386,
Looks like you have some great devices at your fingertips! Luckily, it is very easy to switch from one device to the other. All you have to do is when you are going to swap the devices, be sure to have them both powered off, remove the SIM card from one device and put it in the other. Only power up the one you are going to use and wait a few seconds for the SIM card to activate on our network. That is it! Pretty easy now on our 4G network! Let us know if you have any further questions.
