I had a notification on phone this morning that there was a system update. It goes through all of the download and then gets to a point where it asks "Install Untrusted Zip" Once done cannot be undone. I have tried to find out what this means. I got the phone from my aunt, who bought it from an individual. He had just bought it, but another new phone was being released & he wanted that one. Any suggestions as to what may be going on? Do I need this update? Thanks!!

Cah1973,
Yikes! I can certainly understand your cause for alarm, with an unknown install request. Let's get this resolved! Here are the instructions to install the Jelly Bean system update for the Samsung Galaxy 3 http://bit.ly/ON56bT . Click on the Software Update Instructions PDF, and compare the pictures to make sure this is the same update you are seeing on your device. If correct, follow the instructions to download the update. Hope this helps!
Thanks,

Check your SD card and internal storage, and see if there is some zip file in the root directory of the card. If the previous owner made some modifications to the firmware if the phone, they may have left the file on there, and it could be interfering with the update.
