If this fix works , Verizon still need to compensate us for the trouble and inconvenience of not able to receive our phone calls and texts. I have had missed call problems since May and i run a business on my phone. There is no telling how much money i have lost during that period. They should atleast offer us one month of free service.

I can't speak to the missed calls yet but I can state that the lag time between screens is not fixed! I am also still experiencing screen freezes where my screens lock up while trying to scroll from one screen to the next. Also - tapping on an "icon" to open a program is still lagging way behind. Sometimes up to 45 seconds or more. This actually seems worse than before.
Ugh.

I think Verizon should send a memo out to every fascinate owner and tell them to go to their local Verizon store and without question, swap out their fascinate, it seems all us are nothing but beta testers since 2.2 Give us Gingerbread now and hopefully that will fix this mess

Tawest64, thanks for adding your issue. Taking this long to move between screens is definitely not normal, and not something I have seen with the new or previous software versions. I would suggest booting the phone into safe mode to see if this still occurs. If it doesn't, this means an application running in the background may be causing it. Check your running applications and close running apps. You will need to remove applications that may be causing this. If it is still occurring in safe mode, something may be corrupt in the software. I recommend a factory reset.

The only running apps on my phone are the ones that I can't remove because Verizon put them there. I always shut down all the apps that I can. I didn't have this problem before the update so I highly doubt something is corrupt in my software. I've read these forums and I know this is not just happening to me, come on.
Oh and hey, guess what? I AM ONCE AGAIN NOT GETTING TEXT MESSAGES. I was sent at least four today that I know I didn't receive. My mother is VERY ill and needs to be able to reach me, this is beyond frustrating - at this point I am furious.

Hi Tawest164,
Please note that I have lifted this information to our Product Team. At this time, there are no further updates on the Fascinate; however, we will keep you posted if anything changes.
Thank you.

I would highly recommend doing a factory reset prior to updating to ED05. Start fresh and then add your apps and data.

Still a lousy phone. Did the update and the market shut down on me three times, even after a restart. In addition, the battery is still at 74% even when the phone says it is fully charged. One more thing to add to the list is the phone froze on me a few times even after the restart.
Verizon, I had higher hopes for this phone. Too bad I didn't catch the switch policy before today...

Same here. I just found out today about the replacement policy but it was too late by then. If this fixes all our problems, that'd be great! But the problems that have already incurred make this phone undesireable, especially because so many people got the option of replacing their fascinates.

Yeah I feel your pain because i am still having miss call problems as well, but since the ED05 update, they only occur in the morning when i wake up which is a hell of a lot better than before. All i have to do is wake it up and all as well until the next morning. I get up @ 6:00 am so no one is calling me at that time anyway .After the ed05 update, i woke up one morning and lord behold, there were two voicemails and no miss calls in the call log and i almost lost it, but they only way i calmed down is that they promised me that another update was coming on aug 1(still waiting) but as i previously stated, the miss calls only occur in the morning when i have went almost 8 hours without touching it which is still unacceptable. But my point is you guys are probably going to have to bite the bullet and have verizon continue to send u fascinate replacements until you get one that works because you noticed the number of miss call complaints have decreased alot on this forum since the update so evidentally , the Ed05 update had to fix at least the majority of fascinates, maybe 90 percent of them. Yeah i think the two reps was just trying to get me off the phone when they told me another update was coming so i guess i was lied to, But i have looked at other fascinate forums, and a lot of people have posted that ed05 fixed their miss call problems, so i would have them send another fascinate and you might get one that works well with the Edo5 update. I just think that the hardware inside of these fascinates are not identical(might be slightly differnt) which is just enough to caused more problems after the Ed05 update, im just saying

Only issue I have had before ED05 update is the official twitter app caused my phone to crash. After update I now notice my battery indicator is stuck on "Full", slightly annoying, but knowing Verizon I am sure 2.3 will be pushed out right before I trade it in...

So far, so good. I had not done the ED04 update until today, so I did both of them this afternoon. I tried the GPS on my way home after the install, and before the update it would sometimes lock quick, but mostly just sit and wait. My 1 test after the update worked fine, the GPS locked immediatly.( 5 or so seconds).
I will offer this out to people. I was called by a Customer Service Supervisor this evening, because when I talked to the CSR about possibly trading the phone in, I was asked and the end of the call to do the survey which I did, and in the survey I left them a brief message about the problems we all have been having. I spoke with her today at length about the issues, and 1 thing she told me to do was this:
For the next week, if I get a voicemail and the phone had not rang, listen to the voicemail message, and then right after disconnecting, do a star star star and hit send (The * 3 times and then send). This will load the previous few call records into your account database, and a Verizon tech can go in there and tell where possibly the call was dropped by their equipment.
I told her this is the first I have heard of this troubleshooting technique, and that I would be happy to help. She is going to call me back next week and we will look through my 2 Fascinate phones records to see if they can see anything. She said it could be a faulty switch, an overloaded switch, or just that the phone did not get the call. Either way, it will help them troubleshoot the issue.
There is a concept, allow us to help them troubleshoot the problems..

So far I can most definantely say it has not solved my problems. Made them worse perhaps? I have no data to speak of. It comes & goes throughout sporadic times but not long enough to downlaod an app or load a web page in the browser. I've missed one call today & that's with ED05. I know I have 2 towers within range of 3 miles or so to my home so it's not the signal itself. Verizon tech support has also been most helpful on the phone so kudos to them.
I'm waiting for my replacement Fascinate to arrive now. The tech from yesterday after repeated steps to reset phone & test some fixes couldn't get it working. I'm supposed to call back once I get the replacement up & running to see if it was just my phone so we'll see. I'm rather late to this problem as my phone mostly stayed off while at work or I used wifi for internet while there. My question is if this doesn't work is Verizon going to take care of me like has many others up to this point? I don't want to swap phones for the next month trying to find one that works.
Between all 5 of my phones for my family my bill is around $230 a month. I don't think I'd be unreasonable to ask for this to be resolved.

Update.... I've been in contact with Level 2 support tech who has already signed me up for a new Charge. My replacement fascinate arrived about an hr ago & the same problems I had before are still there. Perhaps they are even worse with this phone I'm thinking.?.?
So whatever happened to it I don't know but my advice is for those of you still having problems, call tech support at level 2, not customer care as they can't do anything like a trade out for you. Be nice & courteous as these folks aren't to blame for bad software. That comes from Samsung. They will respond & take of your problems.

It would be nice if they would allow you to delete some of the apps that came with the phone like city id, skype mobile and a few othe stuff that is not needed by some. but, so far its not bad also my reception goes from 4 bars to one with out even moving so thats i thinks has gotten worse.

It sure has helped my battery problem. I charged it after I got the update and just charged it today That is 4 days without charging. It is back to normal. I haven't had any problems with missed calls and text messages yet.
Wow! 4 days seems like a long time for a Smartphone. I take it you did not use it a lot during those 4 days. But also, did you have GPS turned on? To me, battery seems to last a lot longer with GPS and Wifi turned off, so I turn them off when I'm not using them. (As far as Wifi goes, Verizon's network generally seems to be faster to me than hotel and restaurant Wifi's.)
