I had the same issue with Navigation after my update.  I made a couple attempts to open it, and it ended up locking up the phone completely.  After I pulled the battery and restarted the phone everything has been fine.  The GPS so far has locked in much quicker.

I received my OTA update to Gingerbread also.

Initial thoughts it seems better.

I still need to confirm battery life, missed text messages, missed phone calls, music player auto closing after 1 hour, and at least the phantom button presses have been fixed.

I have 1 issue so far with Bluetooth sending files to my laptop. I no longer see a way to remove a Bluetooth device from the phone. I can remove it from the laptop. I repair the 2 devices, but can never share pictures over the Bluetooth connection anymore.

My plan is to do a factory reset This weekend then post a new topic if it is still an issue.

First day's use showed improved battery life. We will see how today goes.

I have not tried GPS and Google maps yet so it looks like I will need to test that before I do the factory reset also. This way I can try again after the factory reset.

I turned the phone off and pulled the battery.  After powering the phone back on, Google Maps Navigation worked.  However, I never got a GPS lock during my 15-minute drive to work this morning.  Clear, sunny day so I am not sure what is going on with that, especially since others are reporting speedier GPS locking after GB update.  The phone does seem to lag less now.

I pulled the battery again and will see if I can get a GPS lock later today.

Noticed the 2.3.5 EHO3 GBread updated was available last night. Used the regualar settings...about phone...system updates..menu to start download. Took 8-9 minutes to download. During that time the phone looks normal but you see the little data exchange arrows blinking (if youy eyes are good).

After download, phone reboots and asks if you want to install. During this time you see the little Android man working symbol. Took 4-5 min. to install and then phone restarted. Everything works fine so far. Pages seem a little faster. All my old pages and functions seem to work fine. Have only used it for an hour or so. Fox News and NY Giants web pages no longer expand with two finger sweep but you can set font to various sizes so it is readable.

Will let you all know if there are any problems after a few days.

After about 8+ months of use I have had no problems with the phone and think it is great! Wife has same one and likes it too.

Wow! This doesn't feel like the same phone after the update. The browser is faster, scrolling to home pages is smooth, and the stock mail app looks better.

You do have to resign up for some of the apps and I did have to reload SwiftKey buy this is a small thing for how this thing works now.

My GPS will not lock at all now.  I've done several battery pulls, etc., but it won't lock.

Which GPS services are you using? It locks much faster if you use Google Location Services along with Standalone.

;Did the download this morning while driving took about 20 minutes, did the install between jobs took about 10 minutes, no problems, all on battery power. Spent most of day playing with phone and found no problems so far.

Observations:

Phone, e-mail.text messages work.

GPS locks in about 15-30 seconds.

Google maps works fine.

Navigation works fine.

Transitions are very smooth.

It reports more bars of signal-don't know if it really recieves any more or just cosmetic change.

Average quadrant score with 2.1=885,  2.2=1000,  2.3=1360 .

These are very preliminary findings, will report more as time passes, nothing bad to report so far.

The phone seems to run a bit faster. It used to hesitate for a second or two sometimes changing screens or apps with the Froyo update and less battery life, stuff seems to load faster like web pages with Gingerbread.  I seem to have a bit more battery life. I had to archive my Kindle books then redownload them for them to work. Google Navigator did freeze up. I rebooted phone and uninstalled and reinstalled Google Maps. Navigator seems to work fine now. The music player seems to run a bit smoother and the sound seems a little better.

After this new update I noticed a nice change in my 3g and service levels which is awesome. The phone runs a little faster but:

I dont really like how many more apps are running on my phone. Ram is always over 300 until I kill apps.

Cont from above sorry.

Also I noticed that when I try to take pictures on the camera, its delayed for a few seconds.i went through settings already a fee times. Before update it would snap a photo right away which was great when u want to take pictures of your 1 1/2 yr old.

Anyone else experiencing any of these issues?

I havent messed with gps yet but im sure ill be finding more dislikes on this new update and posting.

Oh one more weird problem. My phone has always been set to vibrate with notification tone on calls and text. now when someone calls and it vibrates, it seems to vibrate at top level. Text is fine but I tried to adjust and havent gotten any difference. Sounds and feels like my pbones gonna fall apart when domeone calls... :smileysad:

Anyone please help if you have a fix. I think im gonna go visit the store today for some additional help

Don't like how when you are on forum or large page and you swipe up or down the page stops then you have swipe again. Before ypu could do one swipe and it would be at the top or bottom

Does this update put a newer touchwiz on it? My wife's stratosphere has the newer touchwiz without the iphone style icons.  I like that a lot better since it makes it easier to find apps since they don't all look square.

My issue with the 2.3.5 update was pretty big and made my phone nearly un-usable: After the installation was completed, my phone would so a "soft" reboot every 60 seconds or so. The download was fine, the install was fine, I saw all of the usual messages, but after it was done, the screen would go blank and I'd hear both the Samsung and Verizon startup tunes. It would take at least 20 seconds to be usable again, then I had about 40 seconds to try to figure out the problem before it would reboot again.

Needless to say, this was extremely annoying and frustrating, but I eventually figured out that it's something that was stored on my MicroSD card. Once I removed the card, the phone ran a heckova-lot faster for just about everything. I was getting very frustrated with my phone before the update since it would freeze up for 10 seconds or so fairly frequently, take several attempts to unlock it using a simple unlock pattern, and have lots of "lag" in responding to taps and swipes.

I'm thinking now that it was all due to something on my card. I started by copying all content to my PC, formatting the card on the phone, then copying everything back, but as soon as I did, the problems all came back again, especially the rebooting. I'm now in the process of copying only select items back to the card, one-at-a-time, to narrow down the problem. My card wasn't full by any means, but it had a bunch of stuff on it, so this process is making me clear out the clutter. It's nice that the phone came with a 16GB MicroSD card, but it seems that the phone will slow to a crawl if I fill it even half full.

So for anybody having trouble after the update, try pulling your memory card and see if your phone's problems disappear too.
