Two questions about Samsung Fascinate

I have two questions about the Samsung Fascinate.  First, to take a screen shot do I have to download an app to do that?  Or does the phone have a feature to do this and if so how does that work?

Second, I receive an initial ring notification when I receive a text message.  However, the phone does not sending me any additional notifications letting me know that I have an unread text message.  I have to just keep checking the phone to see if I have a message.  How can I get it to keep sending me an interval notification that I have an unread message?

Message notification:  Download a free app called "easy reminder". Works great.

Thanks so much for your help.  The screen shot capture instructions you gave me works great in every area but one.  If I have a back and forth text message screen pulled up and I hold down the return button it will back up one screen "everytime" before I can get the screen shot.  Hope that makes sense.  Any suggestions??

Yes I do and tried it on mine.  It did the same thing!  Never noticed that before so I don't know what to do for a fix.  You might have found another bug in the OS.
