Update failed

I have tried to load the update Froyo 2.2  which failed from the day I got the phone. I read the problems others have had and may wish to count my blessings for the failure, but on the other had I have to believe the problems must be a small percentage of the updates. The system update screen says "Update failed or incomplete" code 410. The errror screen reads IP_previous_upgrade_failed. What shouls I do?

No I had not seen this thread, although I had search for one such as this. I am disappointed to read it but have new expectations.
