I'm just wondering how many hate their Samsung Fascinate phone as much as I do? I got mine in Feb & have had problems since I got it. It's freezing up, have to take the battery out all the time, can't answer it because it's frozen, but it did ring & ring & ring& ring. It froze up while in the Verizon store, thank goodness I had witnesses, but they said no one ever came in with that problem. NOT TRUE!!!!!! While I was there, 2 other people had the same problem. So after paying $199 for the phone (buy the way, now there free with a 2 yr contract) verizon sent me a "CERTIFIED" PRE OWNED PHONE 3 times, same problems.
Now since the updates in the middle of the night, the samsungs are worse than ever!!!!!! Some that have complained about it to verizon are getting the run around. Verizon said they haven't had any complaints. After reading all 18 pages of complaints, verizon has that complaint as solved when it's not!! On top of that verizon advisors are on here saying they are aware of the problems we are having & we should try turning all your running apps off, put in airplane mode.
VERIZON , PLEASE LISTEN TO US!!! OUR PHONES AREN'T WORKING!!! MY SCREEN STAYS LIT, I HAVE MISSED CALLS, MY BATTERY IS DRAINED IN 4-5 HRS. I HAVE TO TAKE THE BATTERY OUT OFTEN, MY PHONE STILL LOCKS UP. I HAVE A SICK MOTHER WHO IS WAITING TO HAVE SURGERY, I NEED A RELIABLE PHONE PLEASE!!!!!
I don't want to text back & forth with a tech anymore, nothing is getting resolved.

Glad to hear your phone is working. Did your phone update the last 2 weekends? Since the updates my phone & many many others now have defected worthless phones. I've been with verizon for close to 15 yrs & never had this many problems. I'm actually wasting money on the data package, since the battery runs down way too fast, I don't get much use out of it.

Yes I too hate my Samsung Fascinate. I was having the same problems (IE: Freezing up, calls going straight to voicemail, not receiving texts, etc. etc.). At first I thought maybe I just had a defective phone. I then accidentally dropped mine in the water, and did get my replacement from Assurion. Sure enough, I'm having the same problems. I was planning on going down today and just adding a line and getting the Iphone 4 (which will costs me and additional $200 plus $30 a month= $560). However, after reading through these forums, I feel that each and everyone of us should come together and file a class action lawsuit. It's obvious that these phones are defective. Legally, if are not receiving the services in which we are paying for, we have the option to "Opt out" of our contract. I am so close to doing so and going back to A T & T. Verizon needs to come up with a solution immediately, or I am doing one or the other, guaranteed!

Don't hate it fix it. You can work on it and actually get it running pretty good and it's not that hard to do.

I agree, either give us new different phones FREE (plus credit our bills) or let us out of our contract or we should all agree to file a class action lawsuit. I am NOT paying $107 a month for a phone that doesn't work.

Well, it seems like MDRAM4x4 & Reshnoor, think this is a joke & like throwing money out the window. Since it looks like they love Verzon & love their phones. To me, it's not a joke!!!!!!! I have elderly parents with health problems, I need a phone that actually works!!
I'm sorry, but I think VERIZON & SAMSUNG needs to step up to the plate & give us new phones of our choice that work.

you have options, use them
go back to your old phone>sell the fascinate>buy a new phone
reflash it to the 2.1 rom, its out there

If you really want to get Verizon's attention. deactivate the Fascinate and activate just a regular phone with no data plan. If enough people do that, they are going to lose money, and they will notice it. There is no ETF when you activate a different phone on the same number and drop the data plan.
The class action suits will take too long and possibly never work.
If you want to make a point, hit them in the wallet.

I understand your frustration over the issues with this phone and understand how important it is to have a reliable phone. We have had multiple reports of users missing calls, text, and freezing on the Samsung Fascinate. We have reported these issues to our product team and we are working with Samsung to resolve this issue as soon as possible. I apologize we don't have a date yet on the resolution, but the software is still going through testing to ensure the issue is resolved.

That is not acceptable. You are not providing reliable equipment and customers are paying big money every month to have a phone that works. Verizon sold the phone and provides the service therefore Verizon needs to make this right by the customers. As I see it Verizon is not living up to their part of the contract and so if the customer wants to opt out of their current plan they should be able to.
I would also advise everyone that is having difficulties to call verizon everyday numerous times a day until they replace your phone with a comparable one. Do not fall for resetting your phone or getting another fascinate sent to as this is not going to solve your problem. This is just buying verizon time while the customer continues to not receive calls, texts and the multiple other issues known with this phone.
Another option along with the above is to report Verizon to your attorney general. I was able to find a tier 2 tech that listened to me and I am getting a replacement phone as should every other person that has a fascinate...

this phone is absolutely awful. what verizon is doing is wrong. with 2.1 the antenna barely worked now with 2.2 the battery doesn't. coincidence?! my hunch is that battery life was sacrificed to solve a problem with the radio in these phones. although the battery stats claim the screen is eating all the battery, when I shut off data and use wifi I get much less atrocious battery life. still not great though. I went to verizon and they gave me a new battery and told me its my fault for updating without reading the consequences of the update. **bleep**? I would love to see something done about this. has anyone tried writing corporate? what about a facebook group?

I can certainly understand your frustration with the Samsung Fascinate. At this point in time Verizon Wireless and Samsung are working diligently to resolve the software issues with the phone. Once there is a suitable resolution we will make our customers aware of it. Hope this helps. Thank you.
