When can we order the new Galaxy Nexus?

I've been holding onto my old Droid for a long time now and am finally ready to upgrade. So when can we get our hands on the new Nexus?

I was very tempted by the Bionic but I'm glad I waited now. I have to admit that the new Razr from Moto looks great but in the end I want Ice Cream Sandwich.

Anybody hear any rumors about when it will be available for pre-order?

how does pre order work?   Is it done online, stores or both?

usually online

but remember this is just speculation

the dates have not been announced

and typically vze only gives @ 1 week notice prior to pre-order or release

heck they may not even have pre-orders, it just may be a release

VZW announced it.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Considering they moved up the Razr pre-order period last week. Seems like that was done to spread out the onslaught of incoming traffic for the 2 releases to follow. They'll likely have one to lessen & gauge the in store demand upon release.

I have been reading (and seeing the MAP [Minimum Advertised Price] leaks) for the past week.  They have been fairly accurate up to now.  All signs point to November 10th. About a week before the Galaxy Nexus gets released,  Verizon, Wirefly, and Amazon should put it up for pre-order.  Of course, both Wirefly and Amazon will be a lot cheaper than Verizon (plus, no tax...and Verizon charges tax on the full purchase [retail]  price, not the price you pay, so no tax wil save you around $54 [based on a $600 retail price] or more).

This is my next phone.  I have a Droid X2, but I want a phone that wasn't a quick throw together job to capitalize on an earlier versions name (Droid X).  I am still interested in the HTC Rezound (horrid name, I like Vigor better).  Its going to be a screaming phone (1.5 GHZ dual core CPU).  Also, the Droid Razr is a sweet looking phone, but the fact that they (Moto & Verizon) are locking it down and throwing a bunch of bloatware on it make it a no go for me.  I love the idea of a pure Google experience phone...no bloat and the first for updates (instead of waiting 6 months for Motorola to cram all their junk [blur] on top of it and causing all sorts of issues).    I can't wait, but unfortunately I have to.   ;(

HURRY UP NOVEMBER 10th!!!!!!

That was not really an answer now, was it?  Verizon does not seem to understand that their subscribers want this phone, not the bloated Rezound or Droid razr.  They are nice phones but this is getting ridiculous, VZW passed on the SG II for this and now we find that ATT will be getting the LTE SG II before we get the Nexus!  Granted ATT doesn't have a network :smileyhappy: but without a phone what good does the network do?  It is the network that keeps me here, for now, but that may not last forever.

If the delay is because of a supply issue or a last minute bug to get ironed out then that is understandable; if it is so you can lure people to Crapple or the other bloated phones then that is just **bleep**.

My understanding is that the purpose of signing up for the notification is to be kept updated on what is up with the Nexus.  I signed up within hours of the sign up page going live and am just as in the dark as before.  Please put out something!  If you think sticking your head in the sand and letting the rumor mills churn is helping your status in the industry, think again.

Enough ranting, thanks for listening

I am waiting to switch from Sprint to Verizon as soon as the Nexus comes out, but the waiting is agony! Why keep us guessing at dates? I hope Verizon will release an official date, although the Razr looks good, I will still wait for the Nexus! Please Verizon stop making us wait! Thanks

Hey Everyone,

New here, and really glad to be here - I'm waiting with ya all too for the "Nexus."

Anyway, anyone know:  I heard it will be able to act as WIRELESS "HUB" - for up to 4 or 5 other devices - yes, definitely heard this!

However, not sure, but may need to pay for this, but regardless - any real technical folks know - will most of the higher-end PRINTERS that use "e-Print" for example - think that those printers will be able to detect the device?  I ask because I'd like to be able to print wireless to these PRINTERS without a home network/router/cable, and so on (its just me with an aircard for my laptop.).

I know for me and most others it mayseem like a no-brainer - but some really smart tech-savy PRINTER-slaesman aren't so sure. They said, the'ld recommend bring the phone in, that's the only way to know for sure.  Anyone know this stuff well enough to say??

Thanks! and again I'll be with you all on this forum - about this phone!!  Lets get going VZW, we're wettin' our pants out here already! :smileyvery-happy:

Lets get some Nexus love going Verizon! Bad enough your marketing has been horrible for it. Most normal people (non tech savvy people) havent a clue this device is on its way to you. I almost jumped ship when you failed to aquire the Galaxy S2.. Then i heard the Nexus is comming to VZW just wait... You can thank the fine people at Android Central's web site for that btw...The first device with Android 4.0, and the fact that we will have a device with timely updates for most likely years to come via Google itself (much like Apple with ios)... I do not want a Razor, nor a Bionic, or whatever else is on its way if for any one reason the updates. Of course the low light abilities and speed of the camera, 720 hd super amoled screen, etc, etc... Give a freakin release date please!!!

I would love to see Verizon announce when this phone will be available for order/pre-order/sale.

Can someone up there make a decision? (I'm not talking about the mods, I'm sure they're kept in the dark as much as we are by Verizon).

Hey folks,

Might want to try this VZW webpage...

http://smartphones.verizonwireless.com/nexus/

I think we will see "ours" in a week or 2 - once they give the Droid Razr, a chance! :smileysurprised:

PS

Pls check out MY question on page 2  - if you like this!

Its been  a real pain joining the community (again) in order to post this.

Anyone know the answer to my question there?

The signup page doesn't give you any information

and Verizon doesn't send any emails out until the day before it goes on sale or presale.

Sorry to say that link will not give you anything you can use.

Verizon did send me an email announcement as a result of signing up.

It was for the Razr though - nice, huh? - But they did send the email announcement, good veteran buddy.

I have signed up for a couple of devices... and here is the pattern

Droid X - Verizon sent an announcement 24 hours before it went on sale.

Bionic - Verizon sent an announcement 24 hours before it went on sale

Razr - Verizon sent an announcemnt 24 hours before preorder.

Razr - Verizon sent an announcemnt 24 hours before it went on sale

which was my point. Signing up for email announcments at Verizon, you get the announcement 24 hours before you can buy/preorder.

and yes, I have signed up for Verizon's announcement for Nexus. I have also signed up for the announcement from Google. I have also signed up for the announcements from Samsung.

No one will sent anything until Verizon finally announces it.

Until then, we all wait.... but don't hold your breath.. you can't wait that long :smileyvery-happy:
