When will Verizon release 5.1.1 for the Galaxy S5

Since it is known that Android 5.1.1 resolves the poor battery life and the bluetooth connectivity issues, when will Verizon release it for the Galaxy S5?

As usual verizon makes big promises but fails to deliver. You promise the best phones but wont releasr the 5.1.1. Update for us s5 users WHY???    Some of your newer phones already have 6.0.  ARE YOU OWNED BY COMCAST  [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] BECAUSE YOUR CUSTOMER RELATIONS SURE ACT LIKE THEM POOR (IF I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE RATING I WOULD) I am so glad T-MOBILE put a tower in our area i now can consider gettig rid of you sharks when my contract expires... all we are aski g for is what your competitors have already provided, the difference in this software is a considerable amount.   PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND DO WHAT ADVERTISE AND PROVIDE US EXCELLENT SERVICE CAUSE I AM SURELY PAYING FOR IT.

News has it that ths S5 is 7th on the list for Samsung to release the Marshmallow version and that anticipated release date February 2016 earliest.  I get the feeling VZW will skip the 5.1.1 update for S5 and jump right to Android 6 (Marshmallow).  Go figure.  And you know if Samsung is releasing 6 for S5 in February it will be June 2016 before we ever see the light of day from VZW. Shameful.

I'm just going to abandon Samsung when I'm eligible to renew in January. Battery drain, Bluetooth dropping during calls is ridiculous. Done with Samsung. Stuck with VZW as it's a company phone....but at least I can pick my own hardware.

This is the standard response from Verizon Wireless. And is why so many of your existing and loyal customers are leaving for other carriers.  You don't keep you customer base informed.

All being on this email alerts list does is keep you posted on all the other ticked off users tired of waiting for these issues to get resolved.

Thank you for responding, however this tells us nothing about what to expect whether it is a targeted date or if the device (Galaxy S5) is included in the Marshmallow update.  Rumors say it is included however VZW has neglected to state whether it will skip the Android 5.1.1 update because they released a patch to fix the security issue. The battery drain issue AND the Bluetooth issues have yet to be addressed.

So why not tell us to cool our jets because we will get the latest and greatest MAYBE in 2016. VZW continues to keep us in the dark.

Not very good. And I for one will likely be switching vendors due to the poor support and informative nature of VZW to it's loyal customers.

I just received an OTA Download for:

LRX21T.G900VVRU2BOK3

Not much info on what it entails: Samsung Galaxy S 5 Software Update | Verizon Wireless

Took about 19 minutes to install. SD Card has not been initialized yet...Apps installed on SD card are showing as generic SD icons...hope that fixes itself...

Phone is really hot at the moment. Going to reboot and clear the cache data for safe measure.

So much for quality assurance testing, eh VW?

Android Version - 5.0 - [removal required by Verizon Wireless Terms of Service]

Android Security Patch level: 2015-11-01

Do NOT install this patch folks...all my apps that were installed on my SD card are now inaccessible, the phone is very warm, and sluggish.

I wiped the cache partition and Cached Data - no change.

The problem is that they push the patch on the phones eventually. Need to check in other carriers to see if same thing happens

T-Mobile is the only US carrier pushing the 5.1.1 update out to S5 devices.  All others AT&T, VZW, etc seem to have agreed to wait for the Android M update and skip 5.1.1 altogether.

AT&T released 5.1.1 for the S5 in November.

I installed with no issues. phone is fast and all my Icons and SD card are good. Unfortunatly this is just a security patch. Operating system is still 5.0.

Where is our 5.1.1 Verizon?

Where is our voice over Wifi?

Get with the program!!!!

Note 4 just got 5.1.1...

Let's hope this means the S5 will get it soon as well, but I'm not holding my breath.

Months later...here we sit - on 5.0

No hope in sight for Marshmallow or an end to the endless battery drains while other S5's live on to rule another day.

I will never buy a Verizon branded phone again.
