Jesus. That is FAST. Wow... thats like... REALLY FAST... I'm on WIFI at a rich friends house on a (lets just call it expensive) connection and I'm getting 21.5Mbps...

To see that on a cell signal is crazy! I definitely can't get even close.

Beats my high score but is that a normal speed or a lucky shot?  My normal range for a 4G location is 21-24 down and 12-14 up.  Which is pretty darn good.  Much faster than the service I had from Clear which was 8-10 down and 1 up.

testing is testing. i'll show up to 10meg on 3g/droid x @ speedtest @ various times of day but send myself a folder of 20meg pics, takes considerably longer that 2 secs, probably the same with you.

as a test, send yourself 20-25 meg of pics to your email from phone & see how long it takes, whether send/receive or refresh for pop3 or webmail.

I totally agree with your point bearone 21! These speeds are only theoratical and you won't get that in real usage. For example this morning I just clocked THE Fastest speed ever 58.15 Mb/s download and 18.08 Mb/s upload. But right after it took minutes to download a mere 15 mb app (game).

Several recent tests in sequence. There is a 60000+ kbps one in the middle of it somewhere.

Its not theoretical. Theoretical would bw my galaxy nexus being able to pull 100Mbit. Ive dowloaded games on steam at 9.5MB/s which is like 90 something Mbit. So its totally possible to download that fast. You probably dont have internet fast enough at those speeds to experience it but it's possible.

It is... It is ALWAYS dependant on what you are connected to. In theory... at best conditions you will get around 100mbps... realistic conditions you will get 20-40mbps.

i average 20mbps on LTE, but as has already been mentioned, it takes my tbolt about 30 seconds for me to download a 10-20mb app so i know i'm not REALLY getting 20mbps

I know for the tests that I posted, those are the high side. My average is probably closer to 15 or less. Hmmmm, that reminds I need to update the speadsheet of all the speed test with the latest numbers. I have never timed how long it takes an application to download.

It honestly depends on the server you are connected to, how many people are using that server and how many people are connected to the DNS servers at any given time.

Real world speeds are going to be often lower than what these speed tests show. Fun to look at though.
