I did not log in to open my phone and it did the very same factory reset. It was not due to failed log-in attempts. Thanks.

We're here to help, moxie4408! What type of device do you have? When did it reset? How do you access your phone?

I have a Samsung A20. I access it with a swipe, no pin, and this happened on May 9th. Everything was lost except a contact list I had from 10 years ago. Contacts entered within the last 4 or 5 years were not on the list.

Sadly, moxie4408, we do not have details as to why your phone may have reset itself. Phone's nowadays are more like mini computers so there could have been something in the background running that occurred or an update that came through. This is why it is important to make sure you have your phone backing up some place like the Verizon Cloud, iCloud, Google, etc as you never know what could occur. Did you have your device backing up some place?

Thank you for these details, moxie4408. We are here for support and happy to help!
1. What is the make/model of your device?
2. Was your device remotely accessed when the factory reset occurred?
3. When did it reset (what date/time, roughly)?
