Why does do not disturb still allow text message alerts?

I have do not disturb turned on and I still get text message and app alerts from everyone. I checked the allow exceptions tab and only "Alarms" is turned on. So it should be blocking everything except alarms, but it does not.
How do I get this resolved.

We're always here for support. To clarify, the device you currently have is the Galaxy S6 Edge correct?

SlowBusa,
I love the Do Not Disturb feature on my iPhone, so having it available on other devices now is awesome. Let’s ensure that you have all the settings put up correctly. I found out some additional details on Samsung’s website. So please follow these steps: http://bit.ly/1NxAGuU Keep us posted on if this helps.
