The signal strength on my new s3 is terrible. calls drop in areas I never had problems before. Signal is spotty at home but I could always manage to place a call with my razr but it is impossible on the s3. I've called tech support 3 time trying to resolve this issue. from browsing online this looks to be a common problem with all carriers on this phone. Anyone have any tips?

If you have had the phone for less than 14 days, have it replaced at a Verizon store. If you bought it from someone other than Verizon, then have that place replace it. If it is past 14 days, then Verizon will replace it with a reconditioned phone that likely has had this issue corrected. I've seen it on some other forums that some of the phones have an antenna issue that needs to be corrected by Samsung. You can also send your phone to Samsung to fix it.

Lets get you the signal you deserve, timm54! Its likely we need to do an easy SIM exchange. This can be done at any Verizon Wireless direct location at no cost, or with us here. Please keep me posted if you continue to have concerns so I can assist!
Thanks,

Oh, how I wish I would have known before I bought my GIII, it is awful, Had it since august, and dropped calls, poor reception, etc. It looks like the only recourse for me is to buy another phone, and I will look carefully before I get into another "bad deal" I have been a Verizon customer for at least 15 years, and this is the first time I have purchased a crappy phone.

I had the same problems and got a refurb from Verizon. After my second refurb phone, I'm finally happy.

Good morning reddie5. As your wireless service provider, we want you to be super excited to use your device every chance you get. After all, the Galaxy S III is one of the hottest devices on the market. I want you to have the same luminous experience that I have with my S III. Let's partner together and tackle the dropped calls/reception issue. May I ask what city, state, and zip code are you in? Also, is there any physical or liquid damage on the device? If you can be so kind as to share the details of the dropped calls & reception so we can customize a solution for you.
Thank you...

After taking the galaxy III to the Elyria store, they got me a refurbished but nicer gal III phone. It would not charge. so back I went, and we tried again. I now have my new phone, and I do enjoy the galaxy III, this is the phone that I had wanted for a long time. I had made the mistake of going to a verizon store (which I learned later was NOT a real verizon store, but a sub store. They talked me into another model, which I hated, I returned that and insisted on the G3. That was why I waited so long to fuss about the reception and the dropped calls. The elyria store did not have to take care of me, but they so graciously did so, and after the second replacement phone (which is a better phone than the one I got originally) I am very happy.

Thanks all. We fixed the proble. After a week we traded in for Razr Maxx HD units. Couldn't be happier. The Motorola phones out perform the Samsungs hands down in every respect. Thanks again.
