This is a question best asked of your TV provider.

Danokra, thank you so much for this wonderful question. We want to make sure we can provide you with the correct answer. If you're streaming TV through your phone on the cellular network, that can eat up a lot of data pretty quick. As Bearone21 stated, we would suggest streaming TV while you're connected to Wi-Fi. This would help with saving your cellular data. Does this make sense?

Thank you for your response so I guess I woud need to be in range of my wifi and streaming to watch my t.v. on my S9. What about doing t.v. viewing away from a wifi and using my data.

Great question, DANOKRA. You can watch TV on your phone with cellular data. As long as you have a data connection you can use apps available to watch TV through your cable provider.

I also have Fios and it does not allow you to stream local channels unless you are connected to your homes wifi connection. Once you leave your home wifi connection, your channel options to stream drop significantly.

DANOKRA, I'll be glad to clear up the details so everything makes more sense from a viewing perspective. I want to make sure you're able to take advantage of our mobile network as well when you need it. Verizon Wireless is only a mobile data provider when it comes to streaming content whether it be an app, website or channel. We provide the mobile data connection to your Galaxy S9. Whatever you can do while on Wi-Fi, you can certainly do on our mobile network.
If this helps as well, Frontier has their own application called FrontierTV where you can watch TV channels, Movies, etc. I hope this information helps clear up the details.

I'm sorry I don't see a "correct answer" button any where on the email or the file you included? It has been helpful and I would check it if I could as such. one more thing. Does the Frontier TV application use data on my machine. Also does listening to FM radio stations live use data. Sorry I am not hip to all these things but I am more than willing to learn. Thank you very much for your help.

Yes, if you are not connected to wifi.

Yes, if you are using an app such as TuneIn Radio or some other similar app on your device when not connected to wifi.

If you mean my provider it is the one preinstalled on the S9 which is google chrome I think. If you mean my Verizon plan I am not sure which it is but it has a lot of data included and unlimited phone.

I wish I knew my plan. Its whatever the sales rep sold me when I bought the S9 and S4 tablet ? I know it has unlimited phone and messaging but the data part I think was close to the most you could get.

Your plan name is on your bill.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Keep in mind your plan only has 2 GB of data/month and streaming video can use up to 1 GB/hour. That is not a lot of streaming before you would use up your entire monthly allowance.
