picture quality of the S4

what sort of picture quality are people experiencing with the S4? I've been using mine for about a week now, and I'm really disappointed with the picture quality. I've tried several different modes and Settings, and at the end of the day mild sundar bolt torque much better pictures in various conditions than the s4 does.

I just got my phone this weekend.  So far pictures are fabulous...on the s4 screen.  I will report back if I find otherwise after downloading to PC.

For a phone the picture quality is very good.  Go over to Android Central and look through the forums over there which has many photos taken with the S4.  I was very happy with what I saw but then the Iphone fans came along told them how bad the photos were compared to what the same photos would be taken by an Iphone.  I have not got my S4 yet as I am waiting on the S4 32gb version.  It will be here and my S3 is just fine until they have it.

"mild sundar bolt torque???"   Thanks, S-Voice!

Anyway, I am still seeing really underwhelming pictures--especially where there is any movement at all.  In fact, I see no difference between pictures taken on AUTO mode versus SPORT mode.  "My old Thunderbolt took" pretty decent movement pictures, provided the light was good.

I went into the VZW store to try to do an apples to apples comparison with a demo model (the demos have the camera disabled, so I ended up trying to do a comparison with one of the store rep's S4's, but he wasn't exactly focused on the issue at hand, and he was still getting the hang of the camera, himself).  I walked out thinking that the S4 camera is actually just underwhelming for anything except very bright, perfectly still subjects--but I'm holding out hope that there's a bug in the software/firmware that will improve camera performance.  I am leaving this possibility open because I already found a bug where the thumbnail shown in the gallery is not the actual picture.
