trouble with auto sync email

My husband and I both have the Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. Recently we both started having problems with our all of our email accounts auto syncing every 15 minutes as set. I've looked at all the settings and they are still fine. We can manually sync. The subject line comes in fairly quickly on the manual sync but the first few lines of the body are very slow in coming in but it eventually catches up and shows up. This happens with both my ISP email account and my gmail account. It all worked fine until recently. There was an update on 12/28 but I can't remember if it started right after that but the date is about right on when the problem started. Does anyone know what might be going on?

Well 3 days later and no help from Verizon on this site. But for anyone who's looking...I might have found a fix (although who knows how long it will last).
I powered it down. Took out the battery and simm card. Waited a couple of minutes. Put the simm card and battery back in and turned it on. It downloaded emails again and has kept on doing the auto sync now for the past couple of days. Did the same thing to my husbands phone and it too is working auto syncing emails again.

I apologize for the delay in replying. I know that these matters are urgent but there is a minimum of 48 hold time before we get your post and we may not get to it for a few days after that time hits. We encourage the community to reply to posts so we most definitely appreciate you posting the fix you located. Please keep us posted if the trouble starts again. This isn't a known cause with the software update so we want to make sure we catch any trouble early on.

There have been others "complaining" about the emails suddenly stopping the auto sync through this forum. In looking back I can be pretty sure it was tied in with the 12/28 upgrade. And since my husband and I have identical phones, with the problem starting at the same time and the "fix" I tried fixing it (and it's held for a few days now). It is really pointing to the 12/28 update. We lived with it for a while until I got fed up with it and started looking for a fix. I also had the GPS that stopped locking on too (like it seached for the entiire 2 hour trip and never locked on) and someone suggested the battery/simm card fix for the GPS in a forum message. That sure sounded safer for my data than a phone reset so I tried it and it seemed to have fixed both issues. I don't use the GPS on a daily basis but I do my email hence it was easier to catch a non=working item. So I think it is a very good idea for the programmers to take a look at the code for the update. That's where I would start if I had access to the update code.

I've been meaning to get back on here and report if the fix I did has held. I did the same thing on both identical phones and it held on mine but my husband's is still messing up. I even did it a second time on his phone but it still is not auto syncing. Any updates from Verizon's end on the permanent fix?
