I do understand the frustration of the Note 10 5G device being incompatible with our new 5G Nationwide service. However, the device is still compatible with our 5G Ultra-wide service and should still have no problem with the already existing 4G Nationwide service. - NicholasS_VZW

I too bought this phone and I've called loyalty dept MANY times and Verizon is also telling me to pound sand despite it not working on Nationwide 5G.

Two local store managers said Verizon communicated and acknowledged this issue when rolled out in my area which further infuriates me - they knew about it.

Verizon, somebody is losing in this deal, why do you insist the customer take a loss? Give us the 5g phone that works and stop treating us this way!  I pay you guys a small car payment each month!

This certainly isn't the experience we want for you, hotoristic. At this time, the only way to receive both 5G Nationwide and 5G Ultrawide Band is to upgrade to newer Samsung models.

Currently there is an auction going on for for additional frequency bandwidth that Verizon is expected to be a bidder for to grab up more spectrum that could allow midband 5G such as Tmobile is using. Unlike the DSS nationwide 5G Verizon is currently using this can actually show an improvement over 4G. You have to wonder if then we'll see a splashy expensive ad campaign touting the new great nationwide  5G only to find out the no existing Verizon phone will work on it. But if you ditch the phone you bought a couple of months before you're golden.

Same here I just spent an hour on the phone with a representative over this problem. He kept try to say I did not have the new 5g plan then found out I have had this plan since I bought this device. He then wanted to check the coverage map over and over even emailed me a copy while we were on the phone. As I told him I travel all over the country to major cites throughout the year and only one time for an hour did I even see the "ultra wideband". His solution was to give me a bill credit for 450 on a trade in over 24 months. But I would have to fork over 1000 dollars just to be able do the upgrade 788 that is still owed plus taxes and activation fees for the new phone that gets what I should be getting now. In the end this issue has not been addressed and or taken care of. I feel like I have been side street hustled. Because clearly  the fact that the name of my device is a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5g. I'm over the garbage. If I have to pay that much to upgrade I will leave Verizon forever.  I smell a huge lawsuit.

How about a message from Verizon support for me. I have complained to many times to count and still have no access to 5g with my note 10+ 5g. I just want to be able to use what I am paying for.

Hello, JerryD413. Our 5G Nationwide is a service that not all devices are compatible with. This service comes at no included cost to all of our plans, and you don't have to worry about paying an additional fee for a service not compatible with your phone. If you're looking for a phone that is able to connect to the 5G Nationwide network, we'd be happy to help. DavidR_VZW

I paid for a Note 10 5G+ and was told when I bought it there would be 5G working on my phone by the end of 2020. The map shows 5G is available in Phoenix but my phone is not connecting to 5G. You should at least buy out my phone so I can upgrade.

That's some entitled demand.

Whenever I build a new PC, I don't demand Intel or AMD to give me the newer processor the following year. 5G UW is still in its infancy stage as far as I'm concerned. Nationwide 5G is beaten by 4G as reported by several customers getting slower service.

By the time 5G is actually worth it, your phone would be long considered obsolete. I don't see my S20 gaining much from 5G over its lifespan either, but I didn't buy it for Verizon's weak 5G network.

It's a reasonable demand, I was  told the sane thing by Verizon, that the extra $400 I paid for the "5G" version of the phone would work with "5G", never did they tell me it would only work with an obscure version of 5G that only works in certain sports stadiums and on two street corners downtown if you are facing the right direction and standing on one foot! It's been well over a year now and if they're rapidly expanding the nationwide "5G" then they are obviously prioritizing that over the UW they sold to customers first. They either knew that UW was going to take years to actually be usable or decided it was too expensive and abandoned it, so us customers shouldn't be left holding the bag here! To use a computer analogy, if Intel sold you a quad core cpu for an extra $400 that they promised would be unlocked via a firmware update to 8 cores within a few months and a year later you were still waiting and in top of that they started selling the 8 core version for the same price or cheaper wouldn't you feel cheated?
