I thought someone should post some positive feedback about this update. The entire update process has been smooth as silk for me. I really like this update, especially the revamped email app with the combined inbox. Battery life is awesome, too. My only criticism is that there is no pop-up notification window on the lock screen when I receive a text, so I had to switch to Handcent.

While in the stock text app, did you go to Settings and then check Preview Message?
