After Kit Kat update my phone seems to be slower

After downloading Kit Kat, it seems as if my Note 3 is slower. I have gone into task manager and closed applications to get Ram under 1.7. Is this related to the software or something else?

I do notice that the bars are lower than they were in the past from the same location. Is this an issue with the antennae?
