Anyone spoken to Samsung about the mail exchange of Note 7?

I have been on hold with Samsung forever and I was wondering if anyone has any specifics about the mail-in exchange for a new Note 7.  Any details would help.

As a follow-up, are there any specific time frames for when Verizon expects to have replacement Note 7 in stock?

Thanks!

The recall is still in its very early stages, so odds are Samsung support won't have all the details yet.

From what I have been reading, Samsung is going to try and get this done in a very convenient way through its various partners (e.g. Verizon). Odds are when replacement units arrive, you will be able to go in to a Verizon store and exchange it for a new note 7, or another galaxy device (s7/s7 edge). This is just what I have read from various outlets online.

That said, Verizon currently is allowing customers to return/exchange the Note 7 for a full refund and without any restocking fees. I'm not really looking for a phone other than the note 7, so I will wait until replacement units are available and take that route.

I have also read that Samsung will be offering $25 gift cards/bill credits to customers through the carriers as an inconvenience policy.

We will have more information over the next few days, Samsung just announced this today, details are still being worked out. Samsung's goal is to get all current units back, and new units in the hands of their customers, they are taking a huge hit to their image by doing this, I don't think they want to make it more inconvenient by forcing customers to mail in their phone and wait for a replacement, or put an $849 hold on the credit/debit cards of each of their customers for an exchange, that would only add to the brand damage at this point.

I spoke to Samsung and they said their website www.samsung.com/us/support will have all the information uploaded in the next couple of days.

In the end, it is going to be a waiting game for the new replacement phones to arrive at local stores.  They are heavily pushing the S7 and S7E through customer support.  Everything is going through the retailers where the phone was purchased according to Samsung Customer Reps.

I guess I will hold off for the replacement phone unless the LG V20 comes out first....then I'm out.....

Yes I've been reading that they are pushing for the S7 or S7 Edge as replacements, and I can understand why, as those are readily available.

However I think most Note 7 buyers will elect to get a replacement Note 7, or simply another phone from another manufacturer. So Samsung has an issue on their hands, most people who purchased the Note 7 did so because of the features it offers over the S7 or S7 Edge.

I believe that by the end of the month, most owners should have a replacement though. Samsung mass produces these devices and are working with several partners to get them to their customers. But we will see.

My pre-ordered Note 7 is in the store, I went to pick it up yesterday and they wont release it to me. I wonder how that works. They had no answer for me. Said they would be in touch. So mad, If I would went into the store to pick it up a day earlier, I would of at least had it and waited patiently like the rest for the replacement.
