Exchange for a different phone?

Now that I've spent time with this phone, I really don't like it. The edge warps video and registers random touches, and the performance has been poor at best. I had thought I would have the opportunity to return it with the recall so I could wait for the LG V20, but my Verizon store wouldn't let me. Has anyone been able to exchange or return the phone for something else, like the recall was supposed to let you do? I feel stuck with a phone I hate for a couple of years.

It is up to the store. It is where you originally purchased the device.

You can return a device, in new condition, within 14 days. I don't know much about the recall, or the remedies that have been offered, but you might have better luck calling into Verizon or using the Chat feature to see if you can exchange vs. replace, under the recall, not because you don't like the device. If there was no recall, you'd be out of luck, but with the recall on your side, you might have a chance. You could even call Samsung, I'm not certain they are handling recalls directly, but I do know there is an option about it right as you call, I just never listened to it because I was calling for other reasons. Maybe exchange for a different Samsung? I don't know, just shooting in the dark.
