I can't reach customer support via chat or phone. Receiving a message that they cannot help me at this time, and chat unavailable at this time. Shortly after I purchased the phone, I noticed a hair like crack. Bazaar because I have a defender case, and I have not dropped it. Today, I was sitting at my desk, looked over, and another crack! It seems to be in the middle of the glass and doesn't spawn from any certain point. Can't explain what is happing. How can I possibly do more to stop this from happening? I checked this forum for answers, and it turns out a lot of people are having the same issue, and testing shows the Note has a defective glass that fractures easily. So much so, that over time it can develop cracks from regular use. The only hope to reach someone when customer service is unavailable via chat and phone is to post here, apparently. I hope I get a response. I do have insurance, but the cracking isn't my fault, so how do we resolve this? Is there a model that has come out with the defect remedied?
It's a manufacture's defect and so far Verizon's answer is to refer customers to the Phone Protection Plan for a replacement.
I to am finding hairlines on my screen and it is covered with the glass
cover I purchased and was put on at the Verizon store by your sales people
when it was brand new. I am not pleased the others are talking about cracks
in such an expensive phone. My phone is less than a year old and I have the
incision case never been dropped and I also have the gear it came as a
package. I am going to take it back and have them remove the glass
protector and if there are cracks in the glass I will deal accordingly with
issue. I work in an IT Department so a manufacturer defect is an could
become an expensive legal issue.
Why if it is a manufacture defect would you say it is VZW fault? I would say it would be Samsung as they are who manufactured the phone. Samsung is the responsible party for how the phone is manufactured and the materiel that goes into the phone. If it were a proven manufacture defect Samsung would be replacing these phones not VZW. VZW only provides phone and data service on the phone and gives you advice on how the phone works. They also will give you a refurbished phone if it stops working and it is still under warranty. Cracked screens are not considered a warranty item but customer misuse in all cases not matter how the crack was obtained. If you can PROVE something other than customer misuse take that proof to VZW and see what happens, otherwise you need to use your insurance that you purchase and pay your premium for each month.
