I don't know exactly which update did this but here is what occurred.
You used to be able to go into the call settings as and hide or show your phone number for outgoing phone calls (From the manual...)
- Tap Phone from the Home screen.
- On the Phone screen, tap More.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to and tap More settings.
- Tap Show my caller ID.
- Tap Hide number from the Show my caller ID pop-up screen.
To show your number again, follow these steps:
- Tap Phone from the Home screen.
- Tap More.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to and tap More settings.
- Tap Show my caller ID.
- Tap to select Network default or Show number from the given options. Either way works the same.
I used this feature a lot so I could forward my 20 year old work flip phone to my note 5 which allowed me to return calls without people obtaining my personal number from the note 5 thus I avoided having to carry two phones around.
Problem: The feature has been remove from the note 5 (and s6 and s7).
WHY was it removed and can I get it back or what?
Anyone know anything about this?
Also I was told that Verizon now offers this as a paid subscription
BUT to be fair I have been unable to verify that is true.
I certainly hope it is not true ...
