Galaxy note 5 touchscreen problems

So I did drop my phone and it landed on a rock so it took a small chip out of my screen that's barely noticeable and a Crack from the edge of my phone where the 0 is on the keyboard to the middle of the earpiece that is not really noticeable either. My problem is that the l on my keyboard randomly stops working along with the top left corner of my screen where I normally would pull down my notification tray. But the problem fixes itself after I restart. My question is, is this from cracking my screen or a software issue since it does correct itself after a reset?

It may not be related to the cracked screen directly, but it may have to do with the drop.  However, a cracked touchscreen will not always work as well as one with no crack, it seems like the crack would have to affect how it behave.
