I have an old Lg Cosmos 3 for my daughter. She was given a Galaxy S4 from her grandmother. The S4 has a sim card to swap but the Cosmos doesn't. How do I transfer the number?

You can activate by calling in to Customer Service, or do it online through the Verizon Wireless website.

Steps are listed here, under "Activate a device on an existing mobile number": Activate a Phone You Already Own BYOD | Verizon Wireless

MFD188, we are excited to see that you are looking to activate a smart phone for your daughter. Elements, provided a great suggestion to process a manual activation from our website. Were you able to successful activate the device? Please keep us updated on the progress.

You should get a new SIM card from Verizon Wireless for the number you want to activate the phone on. The SIM card that came with the S4 is associated with the grandmother and shouldn't be used for your daughter's line.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
