I can't use my phone

I've been in Jamaica for 5 days and I have called Verizon to add International calling to my plan and still I have been unsuccessful, I done all that I was told to do.  Can anyone help me figure this out?

you should be able to use wi-fi for messages & email!!

We always want you to be connected everywhere you go. Did you continue having issues with calls? Were text messages and data access affected? What kind of phone do you have?
