So im staying in South Korea for 2months.
i've just got a new sim card from SKT company.
i want to use my galaxy note 2 device in south korea.
And people here told me that i just need to insert the new sim card i got today to use my original phone(galaxy note 2) unless my device needs to be
unlocked.
unfortunately, i found out that it needs to be unlocked and i dont know how.
Please help me.

Same issue.
However you don't need to unlock it.
My wife is in Korea and trying to use Korean simcard. I call verizon and waited for long long time with listening almost of their ads. Conclusion is simple. Every phone from verizon is already unlocked since they started selling let phones.
Therefore you need to find right sim card and company.
My wife is testing with her sisters sim card. I am doing tech support over skype.
So success so folar.
Seems like you need 3g sim card.

I mean LTE, not let.
Company may be SK telecom.
