Recent software update on Galaxy Note 5 NV920VVRU2A0J3 December 18 has drastically reduced battery life. An usual day at work I have 45% to 50% battery left now I'm at less then 30% after 6 hours requiring a recharge which I never had to do before. I work 10 hour shifts. Power saving mode is on. Battery usage as follows
Android OS 13%
Facebook 9%
Email Sync 7%
Screen 6%
Google Services 6%
Battery Doctor 5%
Thank you,
Joe

I have been experiencing this issue since the latest S6 (not edge; just
plain S6) update came out. My battery used to last 2 days; I am not a huge
phone talker. I have tried the reset settings tip I found in the community.
If you check back with me in a few days I'll let you know if that cured the
problem. Thanks for the fast response; I love my Verizon phone, tablet,
hotspot and service.
Merry Christmas!

I have the same issue
Same with my Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Cell signal strength is much more inconsistent and may be causing battery drain. Changed immediately after update.
Cellphone standby: 29%
Android System: 13%
Screen: 3%
Did not have battery drain issue b4 update with the same apps and no changes.
Exact same issue after recent update to allow wifi calling. Battery life is at best half of what it was. Please release a fix for this asap! I never used to have to lug around a spare charger or battery powered charger.
We want to ensure you receive the assistance you need. May we ask how long you have been experiencing this issue for?
I have had this issue since the update to my note 5 a few days ago.

Thx. I've tried a few things but we should be getting Marshmallow very soon. Hopefully the new OS will work better with our battery issue.
Try going to Settings -> Backup and reset and click Reset settings. You
won't lose any apps, data or accounts. It will change your wallpaper,
keyboard, keyboard click and a couple of other minor things. I did this and
my phone seems to be lasting longer. The only other option is a hard reset
which I am in no hurry to do. It would suck to have my phone all set up the
way I like then wipe it out and re-do my accounts / etc.
Hope this helps.
