Marshmallow update on Monday - Battery drains, phone super HOT!

I have never had any issues with my Note 4.  I allowed the update to happen on Monday night.  Since then the battery drains (as I've read through posts this is normal, but I don't like it).  I've updated all of my apps, removed TONS of apps, and wiped CACHE around a dozen times.  The minute I charge the phone and begin to use it again it gets super hot.  If it were winter, I would be set!   Do I really need to do a factory reset?  This is insane and annoying.  HELP!
