I have been getting the run around on my Note 7 refund. I was initially told the refund would be 3-5 days. Called then it would be there within 24-48 hours of them opening an internal review. Nothing called back. Told it would be there on the 31st. Nothing called back and now they are saying hopefully in the next month or two. They can take your money but they won't give it back. So much for a no hassle refund............ Anyone else having this problem?

I thought you said Verizon was doing a "WONDERFUL" job on this recall, wonder what changed your tune - and why you were giving them so much cover in the first place.

So I just got off the phone with Verizon. After getting hung up on by the associate I talked to a supervisor. He hung up on me as well after talking to me. It appears that Verizon is going to give everyone back their money via bill credit. If you need to get cash back you have to cancel your service with them.

Verizon is a JOKE!!!
Like you, I was told 3-5 days.
Next call, was told 30 days.
Next chat was told a bill credit in 2-3 cycles.
Next call was told Samsung is issuing refunds back to original payment, not Verizon, and they were behind. What?
When I returned my original Note for the Replacement, I had my taxes back within the 3-5 days. Something isn't right .
Needless to say, if I dont have it back at my 30 day mark, I am filing a dispute with my credit card company. They have the product back, they should release the refund immediately.

My Note 7 was bought from Verizon in Massachusetts, a different state than I live in (I'm in NY) as a birthday gift for me. Now, if I go through this refund, I cannot afford another $1000 for a new phone. Will the refund cover the cost of a new phone even if I have to do the monthly payment option?

The refunds are supposed to be going back to the original card/payment option. In your case, whomever purchased the phone will get the refund and possibly the related credits; I'm guessing on the credits.
The refund gives back the fees for the Note, the cost, upgrade fee and taxes, so will cover the cost of any other phone currently available (granted I haven't researched the newer ones that have come out in the last couple of weeks).

Hello,
When my second Note 7 was recalled i was told to return it for a refund/trade for another phone. Verizon refused to accept my Note 7 either at the Corporate store or at the their Headquarters as Verizon did not have fireboxes or would not provide me with one. I called roughly 16-20 times and had several chats all worthless and time consuming. I ended up getting a 7 Edge which Verizon wants payment for at the end of November. Upon calling Samsung they sent me a firebox with a postage paid label via UPS. Samsung received the Note 7 on 11/02/16 and I have been unsuccessful in obtaining a refund after multiple phone calls and emails. I asked Verizon to contact Samsung to verify phone was received so I can get credit. Nothing. To all those complaining about refunds and getting nowhere please email me at [Removed] It is time to file a class action suit against both Verizon and Samsung, not only for the refund and credit that was promised if another Samsung was purchased but for all the time and energy spent on recuperating these funds. I am a retired Tax Agent and have much experience in dealing with Federal and State agencies. Class action suits have been filed by South Korean consumers already for other issues relating to this recall. We should no longer be allowed to be brushed aside or pushed around. I have already created a ticket number with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Their website CPSC Home | CPSC.gov I was told by the agency that it was Verizon's responsibility to have taken the phone as a trade if purchased thru Verizon. Call them at 1-800-638-2772 and ask for a manager and state your complaint thus creating your own ticket number. It is good to leave a paper/electronic trail when filing a class action lawsuit. Get names of all spoken to and dates. Keep a record.
