PC connection problem

My phone no longer shows up in my PC. I'm trying to pull pics to my computer but it hasn't shown up since January

I've tried all the ports, even thought it was the cord but nothing works. The icon for my phone doesn't pop up in the 'my computer' area.

Did you pull down the notification shade, tap the notification for Connected for Charging, and change it to Transferring Media Files?  The default USB mode in Marshmallow is charge only.
