Pesky notification badges

How do I get rid of those pesky orange notification badges whenever I get a message or post on FB, Pinterest, etc. I hate seeing these orange circles every time I look at my phone. I get the notification across the top bar that is good enough for me. I had this problem when I first got the phone and found on line a way to rid them, but since the update I can't find the info.

Just googled and answered my own question. If anyone is interested.

  1. Go to Settings > Manage Applications > All apps
  2. Locate Badge Provider and tap on it
  3. Click on the disable button
