I was on the train coming home from work today and i saw a girl with a white Galaxy Note 2. Must be the T-mobile version? It looked big and tall but not that big in her hands.

T-Mobile, Sprint, and US cellular are the only ones out. AT&T is very soon and Verizon is Nov 27th.

I ordered a Note II cover by Rearth on Amazon:
It looks like it has an opening for the pen and I agree by blocking the notification light I will be losing a great asset. The wife recently made the switch to an iphone 5 and is hating it mainly due to the notification light. Small feature but great benefit in our opinion.
The reason I went for a cover. I plan on going wallet-less and with the credit-card-holder I can do that. Life without a wallet is making my little heart pitter-patter. Other covers have a folio approach and add to much bulk to the device. Minimalist functionality sold me on the cover. I am pretty sure I will be able to use the triangulation of the case as a kick stand so wasn't a needed feature for me. We ordered a white one for the wife's phone. It looked sleek, professional, and was made of good quality. Only problem is that it showed up without the credit-card-holder. Amazon refunded and told us to reorder since there was 2 different models.

Yeah I saw the wallet style ones and again they look slick but have even larger drawbacks for me, i.e. security. I don't want to hold my phone up to my head and let potential scum bags can see my credit cards right there for the taking. Then all they have to do is swipe your phone which isn't very hard (easier than a wallet). Plus, I don't want to worry about losing my phone and "wallet" at the same time, lol. But, like someone said earlier perhaps depending on how you plan to use your Note II my drawbacks may not be as much of a factor.
Speaking of cases, my case just arrived yesterday and now I'm even more excited. It is huge and reminded me of how big this phablet really is! Now I'm just waiting for my DBA Just Like Glass protector to arrive that I ordered last night. Also, they have a coupon code "Olympics" or perhaps it was "Olympic" that saved me a few bucks. http://www.amazon.com/Just-Like-Glass-Screen-Protector/dp/B009YNR7JG

Ok, now the reason for the delay of the Note 2 until Nov. 27/29th is clear; VZW is in bed with HTC on the Droid DNA: http://www.slashgear.com/htc-verizon-event-set-for-november-13-droid-dna-likely-06255825/

If one of the reasons why they are waiting is because of "black Friday", then how come they aren't supposed to be shipping it out until the week after?? Has anyone else put that one together yet?

The fact it ships the 27th and after black friday so it has nothing to do with it. Got to love internet rumors. 🙂
