For those of you that have Asurion Insurance through Verizon, you might want to check your coverage for cracked screens. I received a letter stating they were lowering the deductible on many of the phones they cover. Of course, the Note 8 isn't on the list. I went to the provided link and was shocked to see that cracked Note 8 screens are not covered at all... Better check for yourself. I want a refund for the last several months, BS.

It’s definitely important that your device is covered, DSCRAP927. Based on the screen shot you provided it would appear that a screen repair is not available for the Note8. You can still get a replacement device with the deductible shown on screen, since the repair option is not available. Have you already contact Asurion directly to review all options for your device? If not, you can contact them directly by phone at 888-881-2622, or by selecting the Contact Us option at http://www.phoneclaim.com/verizon where they have a live chat option.

I just recently went through this same stuff from Asurion. They said I don't qualify because something about not having Samsung approval to fix the screens. I don't think this is fair especially since I was sold this insurance based on the cracked screen repair being done at my house or work from the Verizon employee who sold me my phone. Verizon says they can't do anything about this even though they don't have any problem taking my 13 dollars a month. Someone needs to take responsibility for this immediately.

This is an excellent example of a VZW employee saying anything to make a sale. I had it happen to me too.

Your right it wasn't before but now that they moved to asurion they claim that your insurance covers cracked screens. It is verizon wireless who is selling up asurion.

I'm saddened to hear about your device having a screen that is not able to be repaired. I know how important a usable device is these days. If you do not mind, please tell me about your recent experience and what exactly is wrong with the phone?

Hello Veronica,
I have a crack on the top left corner of my phone, so I called asurion to start an insurance claim. She informed me that with my phone being a note 8 then don't have permission or as she said the capabilities to work on that phone. With that being said she then told me I have to pay 200 dollars to replace my phone. I replied I have to pay 200 dollars for a refurbished phone she said I might get a new one. So needless to say I cant get my phone fixed by asurion. I'm a single parent and cant afford 200 dollars to pay for the deductable and get either a new or like new replacement.

I know how frustrating it is to have a damaged device. Asurion does have the ability to replace the screen on most phones. I wish your Note 8 was one they could fix. Because an insurance replacement isn't an option right now, is there a spare phone we can help activate for you until a permanent replacement can be obtained?

I just called and they are coming to my home - replacing the glass for $29.99
BUT - the 'water resistant' feature is lost with the new glass
