Samsung Note 4 update issues

The update issued on 12/28/2016 is causing issues with my Note 4. Is anyone else experiencing issues since updating to N910VVRS2CPL1 ?

The SD card continues to disconnect/unmount intermittently. The other issue is lagging response when using hard key.

I have spoken with Verizon and then handed off to Samsung. Samsung's response is "do a factory reset" and then restore all of your contacts and apps ... afterwards. Not exactly the action I want to take as a result of applying an update.

One option to attempt rectifying these issues is to re-flash the software. It may be possible, in the case of MATKLA84, that the update may be incomplete.

An alternative is to visit a Samsung specialist at a Best Buy location and have them re-flash the software.

The update was mainly just a security patch update.  Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Software Update | Verizon Wireless

Ann154 ... you are correct. The update is portrayed a security patch. But that does not mean that the modifications, via the update, cannot nor will not adversely react with component functionality.

I have never encountered the issues which I had formerly mentioned in my initial inquiry, until after installing the update. Merely coincidence? Possible, but not probable.

It could be possible. You can also try a system cache clear through the recovery menu to see if that improves the phone function.

I've had the same problem. My sd card is randomly unmounting .Tryed clearing the cache...no improvement. Shutting the phone off and removing the card, rebooting then shut off and reinsert the card, restores the card only to have it unmount again. Frustrating! This is tied to the security update from 12/28.

I now have a note 4 brick due to this update and the random reboots/lockups it caused. Went to the store and it is out of warranty and they wanted to leave for the night so they directed me to a local computer repair place. Calling Verizon customer service tomorrow!

After your reply I remembered I hadn't plugged it into a computer yet. I plugged it into my laptop and it pops up as a device "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008" so there is still something there inside the phone working but not much.

I will contact Verizon customer service today and see if they can help, if not I will delve in the depths of reloading my own phone. I have messed around previously with a friends phone and helped him out but in the end it is a matter of finding an online video or tutorial detailing the process.

Regardless I'd like to go back a few revs on the firmware when it was stable for me. Still trying to find the list of firmware updates for my note 4 so I can figure out what update started to get pushed in my face around christmas that I held off on until after the holidays which is what nuked my phone initially.

Thanks for the idea!

Just over a week now since noticing the issues following the update and now the SD card does not function in the phone at all.

Also noticed when I pull the phone away from my face following a phone call, the screen no longer awakens so that I can end the call. I now have to use a hard key to awaken the screen, which now takes about 4 seconds, before the screen illuminates and I am able to stop the call.

Disappointing, to say the least.
