how do I shut off the sound of a new text. While I am in messaging with a person and that conversaion is open if they send me a new text it keeps sounding even though the conversation is open....HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP?????

We want to ensure you have the sounds set up to your liking, IHMPJA. bearone21 did provide some great steps to help turn off the notifications. When you turn off the notification sounds, it will stop all the sounds, even the initial first notification sound. You can still keep it so that you get the notification icon in your status bar though to ensure you don't miss any new messages.
