I just activated my Note 3. Calls and Data are working fine, but I am unable to send or receive text messages.
Please advise.

Scratch that, call quality decided to take a nosedive overnight. I can no longer understand the customer service automated phone. I have reset my phone several times, and I have cleared data on the text messaging app several times. I am upgrading from a HTC Droid Incredible. My zip is 07621.

Great phone choice, let's see what's causing the problem! Are you using a 3rd party messaging application? Do you receive an error message when attempting to send receive messages? Are you experiencing the voice issue via speaker or the regular earpiece?

MrJT, I'm disappointed to see that you're having so many issues with your new Note 3. Are these problems only happening in a certain part of the city? Both indoors and out? It sounds like you've done quite a few troubleshooting steps so far. Is the audio garbled? Does anything seem to be blocking the earpiece? Also, any errors sending text?
