Oh yeah, my car was air conditioned, then I stepped out into the 82 degree
weather. This change in temperature could have exacerbated the defect and
initiated the crack. If glass was formed correctly it would not fracture,
but if there was a flaw in the glass it would fracture from a central
point. I took a closer look at the fracture with the light from my iPhone
and it appears to have originated from an 1/8" to 1/4" line originating
from approximately the middle of the screen.
This is all conjecture, of course, but the theory of dropping or otherwise
misusing the phone is also conjecture.

Like Hawaii that is a daily happening...
Like I said before man... Gather the information I suggested. Your problem isn't going to be fixed by ANY carrier. You need to gather more information. If it is a defect you'll find that at least 5% or more of the batch would show up. If it's less than 1% you have no shot at all of getting it repaired under manufacturers warranty.

Tidbits and Jroeder what you guys are saying is correct. I think you are beating your heads against a stone here. VZW or Samsung is not going to replace the phone outright. The only thing left besides large large headaches for this guy is if he has the insurance pay his $99.00 the in insurance will send him a refurbished phone. But I can see this thread is going to be one of those that goes on for pages and pages and everyone saying the same thing as was said here and this guy with the same argument. Good Luck, maybe you would have better luck if you went to VZW corporate Offices. The people you are arguing with here won't help you any more than what you have already been helped. One thing your problem is with the Manufacturer not with VZW who just passed the phone on to you. VZW is in the mix but not liable, Samsung is the liable party...

So the people who complained about their Galaxy S3 screens cracking almost 2 years ago for supposedly the same problem aren't mad enough yet?

Do you think it's right for a customer to pay an extra $99 for a refurbished phone when the original only had 3 days use due to a defect?

Can you prove it was a defect, and you didn't accidently unknowingly bumped it against something? Seriously man if you believe it is a defect, and you did nothing to the device do the legwork, and make Samsung fess up.

Like I said before get the numbers and find more... You are going to need more than 5% to actually have a chance... Don't put Verizon on the suit either... That's automatically a fail. Verizon isn't the manufacturer of the product in question.
You picture and others don't show a thing... All it shows is that it is broken, but doesn't show if it is user error or a manufacturer defect. Following the batches and multiple line up(the more the merrier as then it becomes statistically possible of a defect) which will do more than pictures...
Since none of you guys aren't doing any leg work it shows that this lawsuit will fail much like the Galaxy S3 lawsuits...

Too me that looks like something hit it more than some random breakage... Reminds me of my son when he hit the door frame on his way out to school.
