Interesting and I am not saying your wrong, but I started seeing this issue after the Visual Mail update to 3.0.4 which I thought came just before the KitKat update. My Note 3 died yesterday and today I received a replacement with the older 4.3 firmware, but again unfortunately the Visual Voice Mail application update immediately to 3.0.4 so I was unable to do any testing on the prior version; however, I was able to repo the issue on the older firmware. At this point I am leaning towards something with the 3.0.4 version of the Visual Voice Mail application, but I could be wrong and like you say it could be an issue with the KitKat update.
