Why can't I get calls after updating my device?

I just recently purchased a Samsung Note 3. Initially when I bought it it worked great but then I opted to do the software update at which point my phone now doesn't even take calls inside my house I contacted Verizon who told me to do a phone reset which I did but that did not fix the problem I then went and got a new SIM card and that did not fix the problem either the Verizon store told me to get a new replacement phone so I ended up calling the company that I got the note 3 from and they sent a new replacement out it worked great until I again downloaded the new software because the message keep kept keep coming up. So now I have a phone that I cannot even talk with in my own house I have to step outside my wife on the other hand has an iPhone 6 who gets great reception in the home. From what I have read on the forums I am NOT the only person with this issue. Verizon do you have a fix for this and what can you do to help make things better for your customers.

Take the phone to Best Buy and have them flash the rom for you

It may mean wiping the phone and your data, so back up before you do.

The Samsung desk has been a big helo any time my Samsung phones had problems.

Thx very much for the recommendation. Did that put the old software back on

for you? And does that fix your reception issues?

MY problem was loss of network when trying to use GPS and turn by turn directions. 

THe he update had been corrupted during download and wasn't working with GPS.  Don't know or care why, all I know is they fixed it by upgrading my phone to lollipop with the computer.

I also had a similar problem 2 years ago with my GS3 going up to Kit kat.

BOth th times my data was unaffected

Thanks again for your help. I went to best buy and they refreshed the rom

stuff, unfortunately my phone is still giving me issues. It would be nice

if Verizon could help out but they don't seem to even have the courtesy to

respond.

Its a software problem on the phone ad not a Verizon problem.

You may have to deal with warranty again.

After the update you may find some apps no longer compatible.  I had to dump google maps for mapquest.

ITs just the way the giga bites.  (Ooo.  Really bad joke)
