Why cant unlock my note 2 after entering the password?

I've entered the password twice as instructed to set it up; but upon the restart of the phone, my password will not unlock the phone. What do I do now?

Help has arrived! Are you referring to the lock code on your device for security? Is it a 4 digit passcode you selected? Do you get any unsual error messages?
