Why is my G Note 4 receiving lollipop update 5.0.1 instead of 5.1.1 ?

My G Note 4 was updated today and after that the system is showing 5.0.1.

I was expecting 5.1.1.

Is Verizon actually pushing lollipop 5.0.1?

Regards,

Sylvain

It was a small update, most likely to fix some

Issues.

This is the last image that both Verizon and Samsung have both pushed out. Samsung is known to backport bug fixes into their own little spin of Android, so 5.0.1 is not the most precise way to version out Android Lollipop if you're going to compare it to the AOSP Images.

Chances are good, if you were already on Android 5.0.1, you received some more bloatware (Milk Music), and some bugfixes that were not documented on Verizon's public changelog.

This new Android 5.0.1 update from today's OTA is a 'stagefright' exploit patch.

Baseband version:

N910VVRU2BOG5

Kernel version

3.10.40
