Will my Verizon Samsung Note 3 work in Australia with a local gsm sim?

I am travelling to Australia next month.

I have read that my Verizon Note 3 will work there with a local gsm sim.

Is that true?

Do I have to contact Verizon to unlock the phone first?

We want to make sure that you know what to expect. All 4g devices are unlocked. There aren't any steps that you will have to take with us. You will have to work with that local carrier for activating etc. Please let us know if there is more taght you need.
