phone won't turn on

my phone tried to restart itself, then froze.  Now won't turn on, even charged it but lights not even on

It started out turning off and on by itself but not getting past the

Verizon logo. Got hot on the back at top. Then it wouldn't turn on at

all. The deal is, I was going to turn it in for an 80.00 return, since I

ordered a new phone. The guy at the store got it to turn on, but not all

the way. He says I'll still get the return, since it starts and has

battery and is not damaged. I had insurance on it, but now I've activated

my new phone out of necessity, so I don't know what to do.

This is a very tricky situation! Since we are remote we cannot evaluate the phone for ourselves to give you a definitive answer. Are you planning on utilizing our Trade In program? If so, when the phone is received it will be tested and evaluated. There is a chance it would not pass inspection and the value would be reduced.
