You don't have to buy a phone from Verizon. You should be able to find a decent phone for under $200.00 if you look around. I bought a leftover last years model phone(new) off E-bay for $165.00 & couldn't be happier. If it quits working or I break it, I will just move on & get another cheap phone.

Forget all those super expensive phones. Let the sheeple worry about keeping up with the Jones & life becomes much less stressful.

And no I wouldn't give Samsung any more money either. Their overall quality is even declining on all but their flagship TV's. All you get now is a super bright picture with inaccurate color reproduction (hello sunburnt faces), horrific viewing angles & poor contrast. (Last years entry to mid priced models were MUCH better)

"but people have these unrealistic expectations"

Then you SHOULD not have entered into the agreement KNOWING that this is NOT the case. When you entered into the agreement, you confirmed that you had warranty coverage for the ENTIRE length of your purchasing agreement? No? Then it SHOULDN'T matter.

yeah, stupid me for not expecting a wide-spread hardware issue on my brand new phone a little over a year into it's life.

and again, i don't expect a new, shiny phone. just something that will get me through my contract. Or release me from it. it's not hard and in fact it's good business.

Yes it is.  You expect more than a person who buys their devices outright because you put your phone on layaway... Come be realistic here...

As I said no industry does this period. Even buying a car your warranty last as long as specified and agreed to BY YOU. Even if you take a loan that's longer than 4 years.

In fact there is a carrier that takes care of customers better than this, and I will be going back to them.

did you read all my posts? I was very clear when I said I 100% completely understand the agreement I went into. I am disappointed that Verizon would lease me a phone that won't last the length of the agreement and that Samsung won't stand by an 18-month old product when it is a known hardware issue that many are having.

At the end of this agreement the 4 lines, 2 phones and 2 tablets, will cost me over $5,000. So the layaway comparison in nonsensical.

I am not demanding a new phone, I want some similar product that will allow me to continue my contract or release me from the contract. This is not unreasonable.

There are certain brands and companies that stand out in their customer service and treatment of customers. Verizon and Samsung are not among them. Some companies care if their customers are satisfied.

I hope that your bosses at Verizon see your dedication you have exhibited in your company line responses and reward you with a raise...or maybe they can give you a new phone.

Name that carrier please that give you a 2 year warranty on a device because you signed a 2 year contract...  There is none.

It's not a lease... It's a loan. There is a difference.

Also care to wager I have no vested interest nor work for Verizon? Let's say $150,000.  You'll have to fly to Hawaii and sign a waiver if you die while you follow my job we are not liable.

I don't mind more property here in Hawaii.

Wasn't a 2-year warranty, it was a replacement (refurbished) HTC phone that had a defective charging port. It was handled smoothly and efficiently by Sprint before the 2-year contract had ended.

Additionally I have had laptop hardware issues taken care of past the purchased warranty by HP and Dell.

Most companies will do what they can to keep customers. Especially when they have the customers giving them money each month

Once I disembark from the Concorde I will hop over to the Big Island on my G6 and show you the paper work from Sprint. It was an easy transaction.
