Been to Columbia sc ,Charleston sc fort Lauderdale fl, naples, and not a lick of Verizon 5g service. Everyone in my family has att and tmoible.  They all have Nation wide 5 g in most places. I spent 1300 on s10 5g. Haven't ever seen it yet . Verizon is falling behind people. Don't go for the 5g gimic. Very disappointed.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you are getting 4G LTE, that is better than the Nationwide 5G;  maybe that changes in a year or more, but for now, be grateful you are not getting Nationwide 5G... I know from experience! - - And if you search the topic on this forum, you'll find many others echoing my feelings. - - You are right, as of now, the 5G is a gimmick... try to stay away from it! - - Btw, once you get it on your phone, you're stuck with it! - - You can NEVER turn if off. - - Good luck!

I agree. Carriers put 5G in some major cities, usually in the urban areas. And they don't explain that the service is pretty much line of sight. But they all advertise in a way that makes it sound like 5G is widespread. If I get a decent 4G signal I'm satisfied. 5G is just pretty much a sales gimmick.

I personally have the "latest software" on the "latest Samsung phone" (Galaxy S20+) and I know the Nationwide 5g service is worse than regular 4G LTE.  Btw, it's not like I'm in the boonies... 30 mins from the Technology Capitol of the World...hedquarters to Google, Apple, Facebook, Ebay, Paypal, etc...

Verizon should be honest with their customers rather than offering them false hopes that 5G is a good thing;  as of this moment, it is NOT!!! - - Maybe that changes in a year or two.... ???

I know how important it is to be able to use 5G service, Piscestg. I am a consumer myself so I want you to get fast speeds. I am happy to help. My thought exactly. I heard verizon still hasnt put up the 5g tower since hurricane michael 3 or so years ago. im thinking about changing to ATT. I mean I have a new 5G phone but its never 5G.
