Can I Use My Galaxy S5 Like A Wi-Fi Only Tablet?

Just got a new phone and am attempting to use my older Galaxy S5 like an android tablet (Wi-Fi only).  I've installed Verizon Message+ but can't get it to sync.  The error reads, "We were unable to connect your device to synchronize with Verizon Integrated Messaging Service.

It get partially working because my new phone gives me a message with a PIN to use but my old phone never gives me a chance to input.

I read one older post suggesting that the apps doesn't recognized small screen devices as tablets and thus won't play nice.

The application sees the old phone as a phone not as a tablet. You can't sync another phone's number to an inactive phone.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

That pretty much answers my question.  I'll go a different route.  Thanks.
