My mom has an upgrade available and I don't, but she offered her upgrade to me. I want to get the a phone through Bestbuy. So, if I upgrade my moms phone to a Samsung Galaxy 7 could I then switch phones with her, so I can have the Galaxy s7 and she can switch back to her old phone?

The short answer is yes, you can do this.

The long answer is depending on how you plan on purchasing the phone, you may have a few different steps to go through.

If you are purchasing with a 2 year service agreement, you can upgrade her line or transfer the upgrade to your line (from hers), the final result will be the same, she is then locked into a service contract for 2 years.

If you purchase with a payment plan, simply purchase the phone on her line (so her line gets the payment plan), then activate it on your line.

Depending on your phone, assuming both phones use a nano sim, it's as simple as swapping the sim cards, if not then you have to actually move the phones from the lines either via MyVerizon, or in-store (BestBuy can likely do this for you).

BrendyC123, I always look for ways to get a new phone too. I have my eye out for new technology as well. With Verizon, we allow our customers to do what’s called an Alternate Upgrade. This allows you to upgrade another phone number on your account that qualifies, and purchasing the phone to use on a the number that doesn’t qualify. Depending on the upgrade, you want to be sure that you do not have to turn in any current phones. For instance, if your mom is on a device monthly payment and qualifies, she may have to turn in her current phone. For exact information in regards to your upgrade, you can contact us through one of these many options. http://vz.to/1Uh3OqS
